Always have the other hand free to precisely add ingredients; consider this a ‘third hand’ in the kitchen, and a replacement to the ‘damp towel’ method of bowl steadying. Due to its heat resistant qualities it also functions as a Trivet to protect your tables and work surfaces or as a ‘Bain Marie’, with the Staybowlizer sitting on the rim of most saucepans for melting chocolate and mixing sauces.
The device’s design provides two methods with which you can go about securing a bowl in place. In its primary orientation (widest side up), a bowl set within the Staybowlizer is cradled with full 360° of support. The resulting friction between the outside wall of the bowl and the face of the ring provides outstanding lateral stability for the bowl allowing it to be set securely in both level and tilted positions. Alternatively, in its secondary orientation by flipping the device over (widest side down) and using both hands place a bowl on top of the Staybowlizer and with a hand on opposing sides of the bowl’s rim push down. The device’s lower flange will collapse and a suction lock will be formed between the bowl, device and surface.
