Specifically designed to make listening to your DAISY books or music CDs as easy as possible. Slide a disc into the narrow slot along the front and within a few seconds it will begin playing your book or music automatically.


The Stratus 4 is the successor to the popular Victor Reader Classic and part of a range of DAISY players from Humanware.

Listen to DAISY audio books, music CDs and MP3 CDs. Listen in comfort using its built-in speaker or with your own headphones. Large tactile buttons and logical layout make learning how to use the player quick and easy. Sturdy built-in handle for portability. Speed up or slow down the playback speed and adjust the tone of the voice to suit you.

  • Mains powered or up to 10 hours on its rechargeable battery when playing DAISY audio books, other audio formats may be significantly less.
  • Four hours to fully charge battery. Sleep timer function to conserve battery life.
  • Supplied with a removable cover to limit the number of buttons on display.
  • Two-year warranty.
  • A spare charger can be ordered under product code DD63.

Important note: Your player will arrive fitted with a keypad cover which is attached by a clip on each of the four corners of the player. This plastic cover hides less-used buttons to make the player easier to use. Remove the cover by gently unhooking the clips at each of the four corners of the player. It is easier to remove by trying to unclip two corners at a time.

However, the Articles for the Blind scheme offers no guarantees of delivery or insurance for valuable items. We do, therefore, have to make delivery charges for some high value products which need to be sent by a special delivery method. Where a product incurs a delivery charge this is highlighted in the product details and will be added to your order at checkout.

When we send your products, the package will include a 'dispatch note' with details of the contents. It is really important to check this against the actual contents of the package and alert us immediately (within 7 working days) of receiving the order about any discrepancies.

Special order products are non-returnable unless faulty. We kindly ask our customers to ensure that any faulty products being returned are packaged securely for stable transit, or the warranty may be voided. Where possible, please use the original packaging. These include specially ordered items that are not part of our standard range.
