Whether your child is getting ready for their first day at school, embarking on a big exam year, or somewhere in between, we’re here to support them.

To support touch learners we have tools to help them learn the alphabet, and our tactile education set also includes numbers and shapes. Young learners will also enjoy our print and braille books – we’ve adapted popular reading books to include either contracted or uncontracted braille so they can be enjoyed by print readers and braille readers alike. The newest additions to our range are Lucas Twigg’s Truly Terrible Luck, and The Lonely Tiger.

For STEM classes, pack their pencil case with easy-to-see, tactile maths tools like our 30cm ruler, CircleMate compass, or the Helix Oxford vision maths set. Older learners may find our range of scientific calculators useful – all have large buttons and easy-to-read displays, some also have speech.

Check out our range of thick-lined writing paper, designed to make it easier to take notes and read them back – available in a range of colours and sizes. Our range also includes writing guides which guide you to keep handwriting straight on standard paper.

Our pack of reading guides (or typoscopes) are designed to make it easier to focus on a line of text, by reducing the amount of text visible to the reader and reducing glare. Each pack contains four different guides to make reading large print books, paperbacks, newspapers and magazines, and large print magazines easier.

We have a selection of GCSE and A-level English set texts, such as Henry V, The Color Purple, Animal Farm and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, on our DAISY for sale range. Because they’re in DAISY audio, you can navigate the books line-by-line to nail down quotes for your essays. (If your set text isn’t yet available to buy in our Shop, pop over to RNIB Library to find it in audio or braille.)

It's also worth checking if your school or college is signed up to RNIB Bookshare, which provides accessible textbooks and resources for learners. This service is free to all UK education organisations and holds more than 1.2 million accessible curriculum and leisure titles, and more than 3,000 accessible large print and tactile images for the curriculum and general interest.

We also have hi-tech tools to support learners – including braille note takers and USB and DAISY players. It’s also worth browsing our range of computer keyboards; in addition to our high contrast, large print keyboards (for PC and Mac, wired and wireless), we also offer braille keyboards, keyboards for dyslexia, touch-typing keyboards and more. If a new keyboard isn’t an option, our keyboard stickers allow you to adapt an existing one to large print or braille.
