If you’re adjusting to sight loss, the thought of pouring boiling water into a mug might be intimidating. We’re here to reassure you that you can be making your own cuppa safely and confidently.
We’ve been selling our beloved Liquid Level Indicators for more than 25 years, enabling blind and partially sighted people to get their early morning brew or mid-morning coffee independently.
We know it might seem daunting – let Andrew tell you how he uses his Liquid Level Indicator to make tea/coffee:
“When I lost my sight I couldn’t even make a cup of tea without flooding the kitchen. Then a friend got me a liquid level indicator which is used everyday with no more dramas when pouring the kettle.”
Remember, that you don’t have to start with pouring boiling water into the mug. There’s nothing to stop you practising as much as you like by pouring cold water from the kettle while you get used to using the Liquid Level Indicator.
Some people like to use mugs with brightly coloured insides to help them judge the water level, and if you're worried about knocking the mug over, you could consider an anti-spill mug.
This mug’s clever suction design makes it difficult to knock sideways while releasing it instantly when lifted upright with the handle. It's also insulated and has a silicone-sealed lid to keep your drink hotter (or colder) for longer.
