If you want to take advantage of the smart technology in Meta's Ray-Ban glasses, but also need prescription lenses RNIB's Low Vision Centre may be able to help.

You can book a 30-minute appointment at the centre, based in our London HQ, for a demonstration of the accessibility features of the glasses. The appointment will give you the opportunity to trial the technology and make sure you are confident in using them. It can be useful to bring a family member with you.

Ray-Ban Meta glasses can be used to connect you to a Be My Eyes volunteer, provide detailed audio descriptions of your surroundings (reading menus, departure boards, and signs, for example), You can listen and reply to text messages.

Ray-Ban Meta glasses do not replace a cane or guide dog – they are not suitable for navigating hazards.

Please note that the Ray-Ban Meta frames cannot be adjusted so our team will check they are fitting you well and advise if they are not suitable. There are three different models available.

You will need to have a smart phone connected to the internet and some knowledge of how to use smartphones and apps. Our team can assist with training to use the glasses and Meta AI app.

You will need to bring a copy of a valid prescription for our team to be able to supply lenses, but please note there are limitations to the prescriptions that can be fitted in the Ray-Ban Meta frames.

To book a demonstration appointment at our Low Vision Centre in the Grimaldi Building, Pentonville Road, London, call the team on 0207 391 2241 or email low.vision@rnib.org.uk
