Part of the Cubarithm arithmetic kit, this pack contains 100 weighted plastic cubes which are embossed with braille signs. They are placed in the workboard to perform arithmetic calculations.
Cubarithm is a braille maths teaching aid for visually impaired children or older students with learning difficulties. It helps in the teaching of arithmetic layout and, unlike paper, allows easy correction. The weighted plastic cubes are embossed with braille signs using the upper four dots of the braille cell (dots 1, 2, 4 and 5) and an embossed line.
Arithmetical calculations are made by placing the cubes into the appropriate spaces on the partitioned board, with the desired braille character uppermost. A magnet can be used to assist in the removal of the cubes when work is completed.
