Today (21 May) is Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) – a time for everyone to think about digital access and what it means to design products that work for all of us. To mark this year's GAAD, we're giving away a Toniebox bundle.

Why Tonies? Because it's one of the best examples of accessible by design we've seen. No screen. Tactile figurines. Audio first. A product that works the same way for every child, including children with sight loss.

Today, more than 2 million people in the UK are living with sight loss. Accessible tech, from screen readers on smartphones to braille notetakers, is what makes independence possible. We've put together a guide on how it all works if you'd like to learn more.

So, do you wanna win a snowman? Enter our free prize draw to be in with a chance of winning a red Toniebox 2, Olaf Cuddle Tonie and a red Tonies backpack.

The Toniebox is a soft but robust audio player designed for children from 12 months and up. Little ones simply place one of the Tonie characters on top of the box to listen to stories and songs.

There are hundreds of Tonies to choose from, including plush toys; soft, squeezable silicone toys; and hand-painted, tactile, magnetic figures – each loaded with customised stories and/or songs that play when the Tonie is placed on the Toniebox.

With no screens, buttons or ads, the Tonies toy system encourages independent listening and play – and is accessible to blind and partially sighted children. Want to change the volume? Squeeze the ears on top of the Toniebox (the big ear makes it louder, the small ear makes it quieter). Want to skip a chapter or song? Simply tap the box. And to fast-forward or rewind, just tilt the Toniebox.

The Tonies are visually and tactually distinctive so that children can find the story or songs they want to listen to independently – from Igglepiggle and Peppa Pig to The Gruffalo and Paddington Bear – and simply place it on top of the Toniebox to activate the audio.

The prize draw is now closed.
