The Big Purple Phone – SilverFox edition was designed with simplicity and accessibility in mind from the start. It uses a larger handset which means a larger touch screen (6.8 inches), and it's designed to display large, full screen notifications for incoming calls, messages and reminders so users do not miss out on important information.

Each screen has one primary task with big menu buttons, making the phone easy to use. For example, you have only to click on one button to video chat with friends and family, send a message, or turn the torch on or off.

The phone interface has been designed with consistent navigation to aid usability. For example, Home and SOS are always in the same place. In addition, most complicated settings are hidden to reduce confusion and to save people getting lost in menus that are accidentally opened.

You can also have BigPurpleTalk turned on (via the secure carer's portal for family and support teams) which enables the phone to speak as you touch it. For example, announcing the numbers as you tap the keypad to make a call, reading the keyboard as you type, and speaking the name or a button or a contact name when tapped.

You can access up to five selected apps (enabled via the carer's portal), including WhatsApp, Facebook, Audible, email, Instagram, or Spotify.

The carer's portal provides remote support and allows trusted family members or support staff to add or edit contacts, adjust settings, enable/disable apps, manage reminders, and provide help without needing to physically handle the phone. This keeps the user in control while ensuring the phone stays safe and consistent.

The Safe Callers List is an optional setting to ensure only approved contacts can call or text, reducing scam calls, spam, and unwanted contact.

You can also use the camera on the Big Purple Phone as a magnifier with enhanced zoom and contrast to read menus, labels or small print.
