This simple analogue watch is designed for children with vision impairment. It has three tactile controls – two buttons and a crown – a slap band strap with tactile markings, and a silicone case for the watch with tactile ears.
The first button announces the time in a clear voice when pressed (and the time and date when pressed twice). The volume cannot be adjusted, but the voice can be turned off by putting the watch into sleep mode.
The crown is used to set the hands on the watch (sighted assistance will be needed) and the second button is used to set time and date for the voice, and an alarm if wanted (the alarm can only be set for times between 7am and 9pm).
The white clock face contrasts with the bold, black numbers.
The slap band strap makes it easy to put on and remove the talking children’s watch, and means the watch is adjustable. The slap band has braille-like dots along one edge.
Supplied in a yellow tin, this watch is available with a blue strap or a rainbow ombre strap.
