Like the classic Perkins brailler, this durable machine with its metal casing and closed body architecture (which limits dust accumulation) is well-designed and extremely resilient. It has all the same features as the classic brailler, but allows one-handed brailling by locking some of the keys.
To use, first press the required keys on the left of the keypad (dots one, two, and three); these will remain locked in place until the keys on the right (dots four, five, or six) are added or the space bar is depressed.
Because it accommodates wider than A4 paper, you can use the brailler for complex maths problems as well as note-taking and other literacy activities from early learning through adulthood. Upwards embossing lets you check braille as you write.
The brailler is supplied with a protective dust cover, wooden eraser and built-in carry handle.
