Designed by John Henry Dearle for Morris and Co. in 1911-12, Leicester features light green scrolling acanthus leaves with an underlay of smaller red, blue, and yellow flowers and foliage (including carnations), on a dark blue background.
Dearle also designed Clover – an all-over pattern of scrolling foliage, with green leaves and white and pink flowers, on a light grey-blue background – for the company in 1903.
These classic Arts and Crafts designs complement both modern and traditional home decor, with their floral and foliage motifs and intricate details.
