Please note: The WeWALK Smart Cane 2 is a long cane and should not be used without prior training to use a white cane.
The WeWALK2 uses custom-designed detection technology to alert you to overhead obstacles through haptic and audible feedback, while maintaining the ground-level feedback of a standard white cane. The custom-designed Harman speaker’s powerful sound quality ensures you can hear the audible feedback. In very loud environments, or where you want more privacy, you can connect Bluetooth headphones.
The WeWALK 2 has a lighter, sleeker handle than its predecessor (at 152g, it is 128g lighter) and comes with a protective silicone cover in black (to resemble a traditional cane handle).
The smart cane connects seamlessly to your smartphone via Bluetooth to provide turn-by-turn GPS navigation instructions and, where available, live public transport updates via Moovit. This allows you to keep your smartphone tucked away and leaves your non-cane hand free.
You can easily access WeWALK’s features using its tactile buttons or the optional Intelligent Voice Assistant.
Intelligent Voice Assistant is available on subscription (£109 annually, as an in-app purchase). Your WeWALK 2 comes with a free 14-day trial of Voice Assistant (on registration), but continued use will require a paid-for subscription.
The Intelligent Voice Assistant allows for hands-free navigation and instant access to information. Ask any question with a touch of a button and get audio responses straight from your smart cane’s built-in speaker, or via Bluetooth-connected headphones. For instance, ask your voice assistant for the nearest coffee shop or for travel tips when you’re on vacation.
The WeWALK 2 comes with an Ambutech folding graphite cane but can be attached to any standard long cane. The silicone case is rainwater-resistant to protect the smart handle but does not inhibit the built-in ultrasonic sensor technology.
The WeWALK2 is available in three sizes: small (119cm/47 inches), medium (137cm/54 inches) and large (149cm/59 inches). These lengths do not include the Ambutech pathfinder tip that is supplied (and which adds an extra 3cm to the cane length).
