Multiply your chills this spooky season with our horrifying BOOk list!

Starting with the least terrifying titles for younger readers, we have the charming The Pumpkin Who was Afraid of the Dark – this delightful picture book about a small pumpkin called Boo overcoming her fear of Halloween has been adapted by us to include braille on clear plastic sheets, so it can be read by braillists and print readers. Available in both uncontracted and contracted braille.

For slightly older readers, we have the first two books in the Skulduggery Pleasant series which follow a fledgeling detective, 12-year-old Valkyrie Cain, as she battles evil forces with the help of her mentor – skeleton, sorcerer and detective Skulduggery Pleasant. Both are available as DAISY made-to-order books.

Other DAISY made-to-order books include classic horror, including Dracula and The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, and modern classics from Stephen King (IT, The Shining, Carrie, to name just three) and James Herbert.

If you’re in search of classic ghost stories to listen to, The Oxford book of English Ghost Stories will have you cowering under your blanket!

Pick your (metaphorical) poison from our Halloween collection and enjoy…
