Grab your pac-a-mac and your sunscreen – it’s National Picnic Week! If you’re digging out your pic-a-nic basket, we have some product suggestions to help you prepare your al fresco feast. (Also, be on your guard for cartoon animals claiming to be 'smarter than the average bear'.)

Dycem non-slip mats

A Dycem mat placed beneath your chopping board or mixing bowl, will help to prevent it slipping while you slice salad ingredients or mash up eggs and mayonnaise for sandwiches. Their bright colours can also help to provide contrast on your worktop, making prep a little easier.

MagiPull

This handy gadget makes opening cans and tins with a ring-pull a breeze! Simply place the notched end of the MagiPull under the ring pull and gently lever it up until the can is pierced.

Anti-spill mug

This insulated mug will keep hot drinks hot, cold drinks cold, and – while the lid is on – stop flying insects taking a dip in your drink. We’ll be honest: the mug’s clever suction design, which helps to stop it getting knocked over, isn’t going to work on a picnic blanket, beach, or field. It will work on a picnic table, and on desks and coffee tables on all the days you’re not picnicking!

Plate surround

Clip one of these to your plate to keep your baby tomatoes, grapes and mini sausage rolls from escaping on to the picnic blanket. Also suitable for use on your dinner plate at home, to make getting food on to cutlery easier.

RNIB water bottle

Stay hydrated and show your support for RNIB’s vital work with this leakproof, double-walled stainless steel water bottle. This 500ml insulated bottle will keep drinks hot or cold, and the laser-engraved logo shows your support for people with sight loss.
